Diwali and Lakshmi Puja

November 7 @ 6:00 pm – 9:30 pm

Diwali, also known as Deepavali, is one of the most joyful and widely celebrated festivals of India. The word Deepavali means “a row of lights,” and the festival beautifully symbolizes the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, knowledge over ignorance, and hope over despair.

Diwali is a time for families and communities to come together, celebrate, reflect, and create beautiful memories. Homes are decorated with colorful rangolis, glowing diyas, flowers, and festive decorations. Families offer prayers, prepare traditional sweets and delicious food, exchange gifts, and share the spirit of love and togetherness.

Across India and around the world, Diwali is celebrated in different ways and carries different stories and traditions. For many, it marks the return of Lord Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana to Ayodhya after fourteen years of exile and Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana. It is also associated with Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of prosperity and abundance, and is a time to seek blessings for happiness, peace, and well-being.

Beyond the celebrations and traditions, Diwali offers a beautiful reminder to bring light into our own lives — to choose kindness over negativity, wisdom over ignorance, courage over fear, and compassion over conflict.

Let us celebrate this Diwali by spreading joy, love, kindness, and light in our homes and communities. May the divine light of Diwali illuminate our hearts and homes and bring peace, happiness, prosperity, and togetherness to all.

Wishing everyone a bright, joyful, and blessed Diwali! ✨🪔

A variety of dishes are prepared and offered to Lord Krishna and other deities as a way to express our thanks and gratitude to the almighty for bestowing blessings on us.
