Hindu Chaplaincy Training Program

A training program of two courses in Hindu Spiritual Care is being offered by Chinmaya International Foundation (CIF) to train Spiritual Care Providers, or Chaplains, to address the spiritual and emotional needs of individuals of Hindu faith in various settings, such as hospitals and hospices, schools and universities, communities, the military, corporations or interfaith settings within India and within the global Hindu diaspora.

This program strives to fulfill an important need of the Hindu community. Hindu Chaplains are in high demand in the US. Even just the first Introduction to Spiritual Care course will prepare you to begin Chaplaincy Seva. The complete Certificate of six courses is recognized by the Association of Professional Chaplains in fulfillment of one-third of its course requirements for board certification.

Apply for the first Introductory Course of 4 graduate credits and see if this is a Seva you wish to pursue. You may take the additional courses at your own pace.

The primary objective of the two courses is to provide an introduction to Hindu Chaplaincy in preparation or enhancement of serving as a Chaplain or Spiritual Care Provider, in India or abroad. The courses begin January 26, 2022. The courses last for 5 months, and will require about 6 hours/week of classes, or 3 hours/week for one course.
